WHAT IS LIVE ILLUSTRATION?
Live illustrations at your wedding or event provide an interactive element for your guests and they will have a special keepsake to take away with them.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We can discuss and decide prior to the day on the best position for me to be situated at the venue and the duration you would like me to be there for.
As your guests arrive or mingle their photo will be taken and illustrations will be completed throughout the booked time as they enjoy the special occasion.
WHO GETS AN ILLUSTRATION?
You can decide if you want your guests to approach me on a first come first served basis or if you would like a VIP list for specific guests only.
The most popular option is for the guests to be sketched as they come up to me and then a separate VIP list is compiled for special family & friends to be sketched after the event and posted out later. (A little bit more time can be taken with the post wedding/event list).
You can also decide on an hourly rate with no specific guest count.
HOW MANY ILLUSTRATIONS WILL BE SKETCHED?
Each illustration can take approx 12-15 minutes per couple
(6-8 mins approx for individual figures).
The amount of illustrations I complete on the day is dependent on the details of the outfits and can vary with starting and stopping as guests come up to me to chat and see their illustrations.
Most of the time I will have an assistant with me (who will take photos and answer questions) so I can get as many completed as possible for you.
THE ILLUSTRATIONS
Each illustration is hand sketched with a mixture of base templates on A5 300gsm card. Any sparkly details are highlighted with a touch of glitter and placed in a clear protective sleeve for your guests to take home with them. I do try to quickly include as much detail as I can. If the guests are mainly individuals A6 size option can be made available.
Detailed larger illustrations can be ordered after the event from reference photos at any time.
POPULAR EXTRAS
A popular request is to display a large A3 detailed illustration of the bride and groom on the day. This is completed before the wedding day by sending reference photos of outfits, dress, hair trials etc..
Don't worry... the groom will not see the bride before the big day even as an illustration!
TRAVEL COSTS
I am based near Inverness, Scotland so any travel outside the IV12 postcode must be taken into account.
The first 50 miles outside Inverness will not be included then calculated at 0.55p per mile thereafter.
Travel costs will include accommodation and expenses if further away.
BOOK YOUR DATE
Wedding season can get very busy so make sure you confirm with me as soon as you can. A non refundable deposit is required to secure your date and the remaining balance is due to be paid 6 weeks prior to the event.
All quotes are free and available on an individual basis. Please get in touch and let me know the date of your event, venue/location and the number of guests you would like sketched then I can confirm availability and cost.
BESPOKE ADDITIONS TO THINK ABOUT
Additional custom illustrations post event for the bridal party or gifts can also be added to your quote or ordered at any time after the event. I have listed the most popular options.
1. Generations of brides - This is a favourite special illustration to gift the mother or grandmother of the bride on the day. It includes the bride, her mother and grandmother all in their wedding gowns.
2. Any combination of people (they don't have to be in the same photo for reference). Another popular request is to have an illustration of the bride or groom with a special family member that they forgot to get a photo with.
3. Sentimental illustration. Anyone who couldn't be with you on the special day can be illustrated with you as a lovely keepsake or gift.
4. Pets! We can't forget the animals and I can absolutely include them in any custom detailed illustration pre or post event.
